1. Acceptance of Terms

By using SignBolt, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our service. SignBolt is operated by SeaQae Group, a business registered in Perth, Western Australia, Australia.

2. Service Description

SignBolt provides an electronic signature platform that allows users to sign, send, and manage documents digitally. Electronic signatures created through SignBolt are legally binding under the U.S. Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.), the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), and Australia's Electronic Transactions Act 1999 (Cth) and equivalent state and territory legislation. SignBolt does not guarantee that electronic signatures are valid for every document type in every jurisdiction — you remain responsible for confirming that an electronic signature satisfies the legal requirements for your specific use case.

3. Free and Paid Plans

SignBolt offers a free plan with up to 3 documents per month, as well as paid plans with additional features and document allowances. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access to paid features until that date.

4. Free Trial

All paid plans include a 7-day free trial. During the trial period you will not be charged. Your payment method is authorised at sign-up but will only be charged after the 7-day trial expires. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends and you will not be billed. Only one free trial per user or payment method is permitted. SeaQae Group reserves the right to revoke trial access if misuse or abuse is detected.

5. Refunds and Australian Consumer Law

Our refund policy is set out in full on our Refund Policy page. In summary:

7-day free trial: Cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged. No refund is needed because no charge will have occurred.
30-day money-back guarantee: If you are charged and are not satisfied, contact us within 30 days of the charge for a full refund with no questions asked.
Australian Consumer Law (ACL): Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010, Schedule 2) or any other applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are an Australian consumer and SignBolt fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy that may include repair, replacement, or refund.

6. Data Retention

SignBolt retains the following data for the following periods:

Account data (email, name, plan): retained for the lifetime of your account. You may delete your account at any time via your account settings or by emailing legal@signbolt.store. Account data is deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
Signed documents: Uploaded and signed PDFs are processed in memory and are not stored on SignBolt servers beyond the duration of the signing session unless you have a plan that includes document storage. Where storage is included, documents are retained for 12 months from the signing date and then permanently deleted.
Audit trail logs (IP address, timestamp, user agent): retained for 36 months to support the legal validity of signed documents, then permanently deleted.
Payment records: Billing records are retained for 7 years as required by Australian tax law.

7. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to use SignBolt for any illegal purpose or to sign documents fraudulently. You must not impersonate another person or use a false identity when creating a signature.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all documents you upload. SeaQae Group does not claim any rights to your content. The SignBolt name, logo, and software are the intellectual property of SeaQae Group.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (including the Australian Consumer Law), SignBolt is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. SeaQae Group is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our service, including but not limited to loss of data or business interruption. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
